Balanced Mind and Body: Yoga, Mindfulness, and CBT for Anxiety
Anxiety can make us feel overwhelmed by our thoughts and highly sensitive to the physical sensations that accompany it. This 4-week series will help kids understand how anxiety impacts their brain, nervous system, and overall well-being. Through a combination of yoga, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques in a supportive group setting, children will build awareness and learn practices to soothe their minds and manage the physiological effects of anxiety.
Balanced Mind + Body emphasizes these core concepts to help children manage anxiety and develop emotional and mental well-being:
- Balanced Thinking: Anxiety can lead to negative and narrow thinking. This series helps children shift their mindset to a more balanced perspective, allowing them to see more options and cultivate a growth-oriented outlook.
- Cultivating Courage: Children will discover their inner strength and learn how to face their anxieties with bravery while maintaining emotional balance.
- Breath Awareness: Breathing is a powerful tool for managing anxiety. Kids will practice breath regulation techniques to soothe their nervous system and regain control during anxious moments.
- Body as a Resource: By using yoga postures and grounding techniques, children will learn to tap into their body as a resource for calming the mind and supporting long-term emotional resilience.
- Balanced Emotions: Kids will explore how to understand and care for all emotions, including anxiety, recognizing that no feelings are inherently bad or good. They’ll develop the skills to nurture their emotional landscape with self-compassion.
- Balancing Hardships with Self-Care: This series teaches children how to navigate challenges while cultivating self-care and self-compassion practices that promote overall well-being.
This dynamic series is taught by a licensed child and adolescent therapist from Well-Bean and features new content each time it runs, ensuring fresh strategies and perspectives with each new offering. The program begins with a parent orientation to introduce key concepts and strategies to support at-home integration. After each session, parents will receive an email summary of the techniques their child learned that week.
Parents also have the option to schedule a one-on-one consultation with a Well-Bean therapist (at a discounted rate) for individualized support tailored to their child and family’s needs.
Join us to equip your child with valuable skills for managing anxiety and fostering a balanced, resilient mindset.
