HEIDI WORKMAN, LMSW (she/her)
CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Heidi Workman is a wife, mom, and licensed clinical social worker with 15 years of experience as a school social worker. She brings empathic listening, a sense of calm, and a relational focus to the therapy setting. Heidi is most passionate about identifying the areas of impact in a client's life and walking alongside them to take steps toward wellness.
Understanding that behavior is a form of communication, Heidi works with children, adolescents, and families to help identify the function of behavior and how it impacts daily living while pointing clients toward the use of replacement behaviors, healthy coping skills, and practical tools for growth and resilience. She strives to teach emotional regulation skills by using techniques such as breathing and grounding practices as well as strength-based practices that encourage a growth mindset while teaching children about the connection between the brain and body.
Heidi has extensive experience working with children ages 8-15, and has a growing passion to support adolescents through age 18 as they navigate life changes and envision their futures. Heidi is skilled in creating visual systems to support areas of growth when working with clients on the autism spectrum but believes that tapping into visual learning strategies is a tool for all.
Heidi earned her undergraduate and graduate degree in clinical social work from Grand Valley State University. She holds her clinical social work license in the State of Michigan and is additionally certified as a school social worker.
